International Women's Day: Women in IT at punkt.de

Today is International Women's Day. But women are still rare in IT. At punkt.de, we want to change this - not least by creating a culture that allows our female developers to develop to their full potential.

As an IT company, we at punkt.de are committed to promoting women in IT. We want to employ women in all areas of the company because we believe that a balanced gender ratio improves teamwork, leads to a broader perspective and ultimately also increases the efficiency of the teams.

We are aware that unfortunately women are rare in IT and that women rarely want to enter this profession. We therefore try to recruit at an early stage and initiate support at an early stage. For example, as part of informatikBOGY or Girls' Day. We are convinced that computer science needs to shed its nerd image to a certain extent in order to become more attractive to women.

At punkt.de, we implement projects that touch on all areas of web development. It doesn't matter whether you want to provision servers deep down in the system, develop fancy JavaScript constructions or improve the usability of our products: In our projects, everyone is challenged and can develop. This gives women the opportunity to develop themselves further. We don't want to tie anyone down to the job they came for, but rather promote their strengths and ability to develop themselves.

Advantages of punkt.de

  • Participation in programs such as Girls'Day and informatikBOGY
  • Support for further training, conference attendance and presentations by our female developers
  • Flexible part-time models and individual solutions
  • Flexible tasks according to your own strengths and a high level of self-development

Developing developers - themselves and others

That's why we don't have any training budgets. That's right! None at all! But of course not because we don't want any further training, but quite the opposite: we want to give everyone the opportunity to learn as much as possible and develop in their own field. Whether someone wants to go to Denver for a CSS conference or to Berlin for Beyond Tellerrand - we support that.

But we don't just facilitate conference visits or further training. In recent years, our developers have also been on the road as speakers at conferences. This commitment is also supported by punkt.de with working time and cost coverage. It is important to us to show that women can also act as role models in IT and can inspire others to develop themselves further with their knowledge and skills.

We also want to give everyone within the company culture the opportunity to develop themselves. If you want to stand at your desk, you can. If you want to cook during your lunch break, you can. Anyone who wants to take parental leave is supported. Beyond the legal situation, opportunities are created to work part-time, to complete tasks from home - in short: to flexibly adapt the job to all possible life plans. We attach great importance to personal interaction and have always heard: "We have found solutions for everything."

At punkt.de, it is important to us that we continue to develop together. We want to implement exciting projects for exciting customers and we need your input to move the company forward. That's why you can always stand up for your interests at various points in the company and improve together with us.
