Big Data Analytics & Business Intelligence Solutions

Rely on the right tools to analyze your business metrics and KPIs—without having to switch everything over to a proprietary system right away. After all, open-source solutions work better.

Big Data Analysis—Key Concepts for Business Intelligence

Behind the buzzwords “Big Data” and “Business Intelligence” lie concrete tools and solutions that can drive your business forward—and make a massive contribution to your company’s digital transformation. There are many possibilities, for example:

Here is an example of a dashboard for a big data solution. The data, KPIs, and visualizations are, of course, customized to your company and its structures:

Business Intelligence Solution: Dashboard

Such big data solutions offer more than just a stylish way to present data: they can automatically optimize business processes. Consider, for example, a chain of stores: What if one store automatically received a notification when another store was generating strong sales of a specific product under similar conditions? Then that branch could start carrying the product. Or you could monitor Google reviews and forum posts and kriegsend an alert when action is needed. Or you could automatically send emails with reports and recommendations for action to departments, branch offices, field staff, etc., when certain criteria are met...

All of this can, of course, be linked to all kinds of internal data, such as the intranet, documents, sales processes, ERP, and so on. Used wisely, this creates business intelligence applications that save a lot of resources, drive entire business units forward, and have a motivating effect.

Here’s an example of how problems can be quickly identified through graphical representation and then resolved:

Big data analysis can be used not only to implement business intelligence, but also to generate recommendations for action

Business Intelligence & Big Data Solutions Using Open Source Technology

Many of the well-known business intelligence solutions are proprietary software. We, however, believe that open-source software offers many advantages. Perhaps the most important one is that you don’t have to migrate your entire IT system—or large parts of it—to a single vendor’s solution. This makes open-source solutions an attractive alternative to, for example, Microsoft BI.

We’ll build a big data solution tailored to your business environment that truly helps you move forward. Most importantly, we can integrate it seamlessly into your existing systems. You can also continue using the tools you’re already familiar with—reducing friction and saving on the cost of additional software.

Heat maps are a key component of business intelligence solutions

Heat maps can be used to visualize trends, problems, and correlations. Here, too, big data and business intelligence solutions based on open-source technology really shine.

Automatic Tracking of KPIs

To automatically track key performance indicators (KPIs), we think in terms of “campaigns”: This allows us to define detailed conditions that trigger specific actions. This could be, for example, an email containing a link. If the recipient clicks the link within a certain timeframe—thereby confirming, for example, that they have received the information—AND the KPIs are trending positively, everything is fine. If the recipient does not click the link, another campaign is launched—perhaps with reminders and recommendations for action, perhaps through other channels. If the KPIs are trending negatively, yet another campaign is triggered.

Such big data-based techniques not only provide an overview of key data and its impact but can also “actively” improve business processes and business results. An important step in digital transformation!
