Sylius Meetup & K5X - punkt.de visiting Berlin!

After a long break, it's finally trade fair time again. This time we went to Berlin for a Sylius Meetup and the K5 Future Retail Conference (K5), the big summit of the e-commerce scene.
The aim was to think outside the box, follow the latest trends in e-commerce and look for interesting solutions for our customers.

Many conferences and trade fairs have been canceled over the past two years, but this summer we were back at it again. This time we went to Berlin to find out about the latest trends in e-commerce and get an overview of innovative solutions for our customers.

Sylius Meetup

It all started with the Sylius Meetup on June 28, 2022. As we are increasingly using Sylius on our customer projects and are also an official Sylius Professional Solution Partner , it was important for us to attend the first Sylius Meetup in Germany in Berlin to get the latest information on the Sylius project first-hand from the Sylius developers.

In addition to interesting contributions such as "How to optimize background processes - when Sylius meets Blackfire", which dealt with debugging for Sylius, as well as a case study from Brille24 on the migration to Sylius, it was also exciting for us to exchange ideas with other agencies that use Sylius in very different ways. In our customer projects, we primarily use Sylius as a headless store for integration into TYPO3 and Neos.

K5 Future Retail Conference (K5)

The Sylius Meetup was immediately followed by the K5 Future Retail Conference (K5) from 29.06.-30.06.2022. The summit meeting of the e-commerce scene is a good opportunity for us to find out about current trends in e-commerce and establish new contacts with solution providers.

After a few presentations, it became clear that the e-commerce industry is going through difficult times. For years, people had become accustomed to high sales and steady growth and now the clouds on the horizon are darkening and the sales parties of recent years seem to be coming to an end.

Creative solutions and strategies are needed to save the various business models. Using the right software and handling it correctly can make all the difference here.

As a developer of individual solutions who does not focus on simple e-commerce solutions, this ability to think outside the box is particularly interesting for our consultancy.

Where are the solutions on the market heading? Which clever solutions already exist? Which software is used where? All this information flows into our consulting.

Of course, I also took the opportunity to talk to one or two participants about our proServer hosting solution for Sylius and Shopware. If you want to find out more, you can contact our colleagues from our infrastructure team at hosting@punkt.de.
