1_FORGE: Three agencies, one partnership—for strong TYPO3 projects on equal footing

In the world of digital agencies, there’s often talk of mergers—of synergies, scaling, and new alliances. At first, it sounds like business jargon, but what if something truly new is emerging? Something genuine. Not a takeover, not a holding company structure, but a sincere partnership on equal footing.

That’s exactly what 1_FORGE is.

A merger of three agencies that have been firmly anchored in the TYPO3 ecosystem for many years: dkd from Frankfurt, sitegeist from Hamburg—and us, punkt.de from Karlsruhe.

What unites us is not a financial investor, but a shared understanding of how great digital projects are created: with technical depth, open communication, trust—and a community that we not only know, but also help shape.

TYPO3 and open-source solutions are in our DNA—not just our business model

In recent years, we’ve observed how the TYPO3 market has been changing. Large projects are increasingly being handled by agencies that aren’t necessarily deeply rooted in the community, but that impress with their size, buzzwords, and processes.

With 1_FORGE, we’re showing that there’s another way.

We bring together what belongs together: years of project experience, certified TYPO3 expertise, agile methods, a close connection to the open-source community—and the ability to reliably handle even larger projects.

And best of all: We don’t just work side by side—we truly work together. As a well-coordinated team that can rely on one another.

Who is 1_FORGE? Three agencies with substance

dkd Internet Service GmbH (Frankfurt)

We’ve been operating as a digital agency for over 20 years, with around 60 specialists in development, UX, SEO, and consulting. dkd is TYPO3 through and through—with the most TYPO3 certifications worldwide, seven TYPO3 Awards, its own Solr workshops, and a strong commitment to the community.

Its CEO, Olivier Dobberkau, is not only an entrepreneur but also the president of the TYPO3 Association—for us, being close to the community isn’t just a catchphrase; it’s a way of life.

sitegeist media solutions GmbH (Hamburg)

Owner-managed, with about 70 employees and over 25 years in the market. sitegeist is a TYPO3 Platinum Member and Solution Partner with over 200 completed TYPO3 projects.

They are among the most active contributors in the TYPO3 universe and have initiated and maintained numerous open-source extensions such as Fluid Components, Editor Widgets, and SMS Responsive Images.

And something that’s often overlooked: sitegeist also excels in methodology. With its own agile framework called RE.A.L., the company brings structure, speed, and clarity to complex projects.

punkt.de GmbH (Karlsruhe)

We’ve been an integral part of the TYPO3 community for over 20 years and have been in business for nearly 30 years—as service providers, event organizers, and contributors.

We develop secure, maintainable, and scalable digital platforms—from identity management and single sign-on to portals with deeply integrated processes. And we believe in open source: we help shape the community, we sponsor projects, and we make our presence felt.

This includes the TYPO3 Developer Days, which we’ve been actively organizing for years—because we believe that a vibrant community creates real added value.

Together, we are more than the sum of our parts

With more than 160 colleagues, combined annual revenue exceeding 15 million euros, and a project culture centered on trust, responsibility, and quality, 1_Forge is a true alternative in the market:

  • Strong enough for large, complex projects
  • Fast enough for agile MVPs
  • Close-knit enough to function as a true team

And: We know our strengths—and those of our partners.

Our clients benefit from not having to manage three service providers, but instead working with a well-coordinated team that offers them solutions—tailored, well-thought-out, and designed for the long term.

TYPO3 needs a sense of purpose—and people who are willing to take responsibility

The fact that we’re taking this step is no coincidence. It’s also a deliberate, economically sound decision: We believe in TYPO3. And in open source. And we believe that this will enable us to deliver better projects in the long run—for public sector clients, for businesses, and for organizations with a sense of responsibility.

We’re convinced that the future belongs to networks, not lone wolves. And to teams that not only know each other but trust each other.

That’s why 1_FORGE isn’t a short-term pitch alliance, but a commitment.
