Neos Conference 2025

The Neos Conference took place in Karlsruhe again this year. As co-organizers of the conference, we were right in the thick of things once more, rather than just attending. In addition to the new version 9 of Neos, there were many exciting topics on the agenda, including, of course, the Neos Awards 2025, which had a surprise in store for us this year...

Neos 9, Awards, and Community

This year, we once again helped organize the Neos Conference 2025 in Karlsruhe.

From June 18 to 20, 2025, the Neos community gathered in Karlsruhe to discuss current topics in development and the Neos ecosystem.

For true Neos enthusiasts, the action continued on June 21, 2025, with Contribution Day, followed by the sprint at the punkt.de.

One of the most exciting topics was certainly the long-awaited Neos Version 9. The new content repository—the core of any CMS—which is based on event sourcing concepts, took over nine years to go from concept to release and represents a massive technological leap forward in the field of content management systems.

The Neos N is now even available as a paper craft kit

Under the title “Digital Content Evolved,” Sebastian Kurfürst and Tobias Gruber presented the new version. Specifically in the following areas:

  • Editor Experience
  • Reliability and stability for sites with multiple editors working simultaneously
  • Traceability / Audit Trail

Neos 9.0 opens up entirely new possibilities. It marks the long-awaited kickoff for a wealth of features that are now technically feasible, such as an undo function, collaborative work, and more comprehensive asset management.

In addition to engaging with the community and having many interesting conversations, the Neos Awards were naturally a major focus. We were particularly pleased to receive one award.

Neos Silver Award - A Keycloak for ANAG

In the “Best Neos Project 2025” category, our friends at Sitegeist Media Solutions GmbH won the Silver Award.

We were happy both for our colleagues and for ourselves, since we were able to provide the client "Automobilgruppe Nord," we delivered Keycloak as the IDP/IAM solution —an important component of the overall project.

From the very start of the project, we were able to advise and support our colleagues at Sitegeist with our Keycloak specialists and coordinate the integration of the SSO solutions into the client’s CRM. This allowed Sitegeist to focus on the main project and ultimately win the award.

With our team of Keycloak specialists, we are able to help agencies and companies set up an open-source-based IDP/SSO solution using Keycloak and integrate it into various applications. Using our Keycloak-Connect framework, we can do this even when—as in this case—the systems to be connected do not offer a native interface for modern SSO protocols.

As can be seen from the ANAG project, this has been a great success.
