The open-source-based content management solution Government Site Builder 11 (GSB), available to the federal administration, also contributes to this. Materna has now been awarded the framework contract for GSB 11 for “Lot 3: Migration and Relaunch, including training.” The subcontractors are 16 implementation partners specializing in the TYPO3 technology used. The migration services are available to the approximately 530 federal agencies through the Federal Government’s online marketplace.
GSB 11 is a central component for modern, independent websites operated by federal agencies and a powerful content management system (CMS). It is part of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Homeland (BMI)’s federal service consolidation initiative, based on the open-source CMS TYPO3. TYPO3 stands out for its high level of security, flexible permissions and workflow management, and the ability to efficiently implement accessible and multilingual websites. Additionally, the open-source approach ensures strategic independence from a single vendor and adaptability to specific legal requirements.
Materna was selected as the general contractor for Lot 3 of the framework agreement. Materna has assembled a partner network consisting of 16 implementation partners specializing in TYPO3. Together with Materna as the general contractor, these partners will carry out the migration services. In addition, the vendor consortium is developing tailored in-person and online training sessions for editors and administrators to quickly foster acceptance of the new system.
