The 5-Minute Talks are an internal company event that we use as a platform to stay informed about what’s happening within the company. The development teams gain insight into the work of the other development teams. The tech team reports on progress in the automation process, and the marketing team provides updates on current developments related to punkt.deTYPO3 or Neos. The 5-Minute Talks take place once a month, and the duration depends on the number of presentations. We usually set aside about an hour and a half. 

The concept is simple: Everyone has the opportunity to present for five minutes...

• what they’ve learned
• what new tools they’ve discovered
• what they took away from the last trade show or conference they attended
• what new tips and tricks they have for their colleagues
• what problems they’ve solved recently or what challenges they’re facing
• and so on.

Any contributions that might be of interest to colleagues in any way are welcome. 

The 5-minute talks help us stay up to date and know what’s going on in the company. They also help colleagues identify who might be the right person to contact for specific questions—at least most of the time.  Of course, another important aspect is that the entire company comes together for this event, which helps maintain personal connections even across teams.
