When we were asked by our friends at dkd a few weeks ago whether we would like to take part in the TYPO3 partner stand at DMEXCO, we didn't have to think twice.

It was immediately clear to us that we wanted to be there and fly the TYPO3 flag at this event in Cologne, where so many exciting colleagues from online marketing come together. I thought it was really great last year that TYPO3, as an open source system, can now manage to be present at such an event. Even better that we were able to be there in person this year!

The exciting question after such an event is of course always: "Was it worth it?" For me personally, it was worth it in more ways than one.

It was a good opportunity forour existing customers to simply drop by and get in touch with us and other partner companies as part of a larger event. It is also often very refreshing to simply have a coffee outside of jour fixes and backlogs and chat a little about future topics. If things got very specific, some people were even able to look for a complementary solution directly at the trade fair.

For potential new customers, it was of course a great opportunity to get to know the TYPO3 ecosystem. The questions of previous years: "Is TYPO3 still fit for the future? Is the system stable enough? Can I find suitable partner agencies?" have increasingly fallen silent. TYPO3 as a system is here! - stable and future-proof. The agencies present proved this with impressive cases and solutions for the current challenges from SEO to omnichannel marketing. We are proud to have made our contribution here too.

For us, it was once again wonderfully refreshing to have a direct exchange with other agencies. Despite the competition, the TYPO3 ecosystem is characterized by an incredibly open and honest exchange. From my professional experience so far, this is truly unique in open source software development. The idea of "inspiring people to share" doesn't stop with the developers at TYPO3, but also and especially applies at the level of POs, managing directors and marketeers. This allowed us to find out again where we might have the same challenges, what the solutions are and what we can learn from each other.

Conclusion: The setup and the exchange at DMEXCO were very pleasant. Thanks to the honesty of our communication and setup, we were able to provide TYPO3 with a partner stand that didn't make us hide, but we didn't have to bend either. We presented ourselves as an honest open source product, with committed partners who may not employ 3000 people, but who create really high-quality and flexible solutions for large and complex challenges.

We are very proud to be a part of this and look forward to being back next year. Thanks also to 3m5 and TYPO3 GmbH for the overall organization.

Omnichannel marketing

At DMEXCO, I gave a presentation on the topic of omnichannel marketing and how this is also possible in smaller, more dynamic setups with a small but powerful team. If you would like to find out more, please feel free to contact me or take a look at the slides on Slidedeck.
