As an IT company, we at punkt.de have made it our mission to promote women in IT.

We want to employ women in all areas of the company. This is because we believe that a balanced gender ratio improves collaboration in the teams, leads to a broader view and ultimately also increases the efficiency of the teams. This is another reason why Girls' Day is so important to us. It's the perfect opportunity for young girls and teenagers to get a taste of the IT world and get excited about the diversity in IT.

Girls' Day on 28.04.2022

Yesterday at 10:00 am, our colleagues Ursula and Christiane started the day together with the 4 "girls". The first thing on the agenda was a game to get to know each other, in which everyone could tell a bit about themselves. This was immediately followed by the most important topic of the day: The choice of lunch!

At around 10:30 a.m., we moved on to the actual topic of the day: What does a web developer actually do?

The topics ranged from design to the selection of technical tools. The goal for the participants was to create a website about themselves or a hobby. The first step was to plan diligently with pen and paper, before moving on to the actual implementation with the keyboard. All with the support of our Girls' Day team. Everyone really enjoyed the exchange and collaboration on the task. There was a lot of praise for the great support and the interesting explanations.

At the end of the day, all the results were then presented in 5-minute presentations. And they were really impressive!

From vacation reports about Switzerland to themed pages about handball or dancing, we were able to marvel at the new websites. Our 4 participants did a great job and we hope that our enthusiasm for web development has spread.
