As an IT company, we at punkt.de are committed to promoting women in IT.

We aim to employ women in all areas of our company. We believe that a balanced gender ratio improves teamwork, broadens perspectives, and ultimately increases team efficiency. That’s another reason why Girls’ Day is so important to us. It’s the perfect opportunity for young girls and teenagers to get a taste of the IT world and become excited about the diversity in computer science.

Girls' Day on April 28, 2022

Yesterday at 10:00 a.m., our colleagues Ursula and Christiane kicked off the day with the four “girls.” First on the agenda was an icebreaker game where everyone could tell a little about themselves. Right after that, it was time to tackle the most important topic of the day: choosing what to have for lunch!

Around 10:30 a.m., we moved on to the main topic of the day: What does a web developer actually do?

The topics ranged from design to choosing the right technical tools. The goal for the participants was to create a website about themselves or a hobby. First, they worked diligently on planning with pen and paper, and then they moved on to actually building the site using the keyboard. All with the support of our Girls’ Day team. Everyone really enjoyed the discussion and collaboration on the task. There was plenty of praise for the great support and the interesting explanations.

At the end of the day, all the results were presented in 5-minute presentations. And they were truly impressive!

From a vacation report on Switzerland to a themed page on handball or dancing, we were able to marvel at the new websites. Our four participants did a fantastic job, and we certainly hope that our enthusiasm for web development has rubbed off on them.

Thank you so much for the wonderful day!

Since we at the “ punkt.de ” love putting up notes on the walls, we couldn’t resist using this method on Girls’ Day either. We were thrilled to receive such positive feedback, and we’re of course happy to take your suggestions for improvement into account for next year.
