The competition was fierce: About 23 entries for the Neos CMS Awards vied for the jury’s favor—a jury that, by the way, wasn’t made up solely of members of the Neos community. This year’s main criteria were:

1. Impact—Influence on the Neos project as a CMS
2. Innovation—New features and concepts
3. Contribution—Contribution to open source

Not only did we make the shortlist alongside our partner agency Kaufmann Digital and seven other projects, but the jury also went on to award us the Silver Award!

Only the development of the website and app for RB Leipzig by Brandung GmbH ranked higher than us—congratulations from us: You definitely deserve it!

Large-Scale Projects: Scalability of Neos

A few brief words about the project itself. Our client, CompuGroup Medical ( CGM), is a global provider of services and software in the medical field (e-health). This also means that data security and privacy are top priorities.

This was a good reason for CGM to opt for an open-source solution: open source simply offers the greatest transparency, and the code can be reviewed at any time. We also rely on open source for many aspects of CGM’s technology stack.

What made this project truly special, however, was its sheer scale: 11 websites, 14 languages, over 200,000 nodes in Neos... On top of that, we had a very tight 6-month timeline for implementing the relaunch!

These challenges led to many innovations and contributions to the Neos project. More details are available from our colleague Michel Löw, who presented some technical highlights from the project at Neos Con 2022 (English, 3:17:27):

We are thrilled about this success and would like to thank Kaufmann Digital, as well as our other partners, made in (Design) and webnetz ( Marketing).

Above all, of course, we’d like to thank our client CGM for the fantastic and extremely productive collaboration, which ultimately led not only to the success of this project but also to success for Neos and the open-source philosophy.

To wrap things up, here are a few photos from the awards ceremony:
