In the week from 18.07. to 20.07.2022 the Neos Marketing Sprint took place in Sebastian Helzle's office in Rheinstetten near Karlsruhe. But also remotely some of the Neos Slack joined in. Sprints are very important because everyone can participate in the sprints, even without having much knowledge of Neos. It's also a great way to connect with the Neos community and meet great new people.
There were several topics to deal with. But two topics were in the foreground. Firstly, the Neos website and the new Neos demo system.
The Neos CMS website
Part of the sprint consisted of implementing small tasks for the www.neos.io website. Among other things, we have
- replaced and styled the Google Forms forms with forms built with Neos
- added a display of the awards won on the partner pages
- made some improvements to the Marketplace
- implemented minor bug fixes
The Neos demo system
Together we have thought about a new Neos demo system. The goal is that you can create a limited account in the demo instance. This will allow you to get to know Neos better and take a closer look at the backend. Perhaps this will also generate interest in the next project. This demo resets itself every Monday in order to always guarantee a tidy demo. It should also not be possible to publish changes to the live site, for example.
The demo system is currently available in beta status at https://demo.neos.io/.
How does punkt.de support the Neos project?
For the duration of the sprints, punkt.de releases some of its employees from the consulting and development teams to take part in the sprints and indirectly supports the Neos project in addition to providing direct financial support, e.g. for drinks for the sprint participants or donations.
Conclusion
What I like most about the Neos Sprints, apart from the work, is the get-together and the conversations with other people from the Neos community. You are immediately welcomed with open arms. As the newest member of the Neos Core team, I have also learned a lot about the workflow for solving open Neos problems and how Neos Core works.
