Together with 14 colleagues, we traveled to the capital full of anticipation to spend two days immersing ourselves in the world of NeosCMS and other web technologies.
The event kicked off right on time at 10:00 a.m. with the opening ceremony and keynote address. We’d like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt thanks to Sandstorm and Sitegeist, who once again put together a fantastic event this year. It was fantastic to see old friends again and exchange ideas with colleagues from other agencies.
There were plenty of exciting presentations right from the first day. Michael Lihs, for example, presented “CI/CD Pipelines for Cloud,” and many new insights about Neos 9.0 were shared. The new version represents a true leap forward in the system’s capabilities and, of course, also presents challenges when it comes to updating and optimizing existing applications. But the community is standing together on this and tackling this major and decisive step as one. That’s open source at its best.
Friday was just as exciting. Our CTO, Daniel Lienert, explained how we can build higher-performing applications using gRPC and new PHP frameworks than with traditional technologies. The topic of sustainability was also a constant presence at the event. We were impressed by how the industry is taking a critical look at itself and considering how it can contribute to combating the climate crisis.
All in all, Neos Con 2023 was a complete success for us. We came away with great connections and inspiration and received an incredible amount of input. We’re proud to be part of this open-source community and are convinced that we work better together than against one another. We’re already looking forward to next year with this diverse and knowledgeable community!
