Over the years that we have been working on projects involving open source CMS such as TYPO3 and Neos, the demand for interfaces to third-party systems has increased continuously. The corporate website is no longer just an isolated stand-alone solution in communication, but only unfolds its full potential through interaction with other systems and data sources - be it a product information management system (PIM), enterprise resource planning software (ERP), a customer relationship management system (CRM) or specialized applications for HR processes.
Open source CMS are predestined for such tasks thanks to their open interfaces and high level of customizability. We can confirm this with a clear conscience, as we have proven this time and again through a large number of successfully implemented projects.
The topic of interfaces also plays a central role in one of our current projects. For our customer, we have developed an integration between a Marketing website and the SAP Customer Data Cloud (SAP CDC) - with a direct connection to both the SAP Marketing Cloud and the SAP Sales Cloud.
A company's website is a central touchpoint for customer interactions - and therefore a valuable lead generator. However, without a direct connection to the SAP Cloud solutions, leads would have to be transferred manually. This would not only be time-consuming, but also prone to errors. Integration into the SAP Customer Data Cloud - with connections to the SAP Marketing Cloud and SAP Sales Cloud - creates an end-to-end, automated process.
Integration offers several advantages:
This turns the website into a powerful hub that automatically captures and intelligently processes leads - from the first contact to the opportunity in sales.
For our project, it was not enough to use the standard functions of the CMS. Although the CMS basically enables user form data to be processed, our customer's requirements went beyond the existing functions.
We therefore adapted the existing form builder. So-called SAP forms can now be integrated directly on the website. They ensure that leads are transmitted to marketing and sales in a secure, standardized way and without manual intermediate steps. Editors can place the forms flexibly, while our implementation eliminates errors caused by manual input.
A special feature is the asynchronous data transfer via a queue. It ensures optimized performance, as users do not have to wait for feedback. At the same time, the company retains control at all times thanks to traceable entries and even in the event of an error, a lead remains saved and can be retransferred at a later date.
We have also developed our own modules to optimally process and manage the data from the SAP systems. This resulted in a tailor-made solution that integrates seamlessly into the existing IT landscape and supports the customer's individual processes.
Linking the website with SAP Marketing Cloud and SAP Sales Cloud - merged in the SAP Customer Data Cloud - makes lead management more efficient, reliable and data-driven. Leads are captured automatically and processed without manual detours, marketing and sales data is always up to date and campaigns and sales measures can be controlled in an even more targeted manner using Customer Interests and SAP Products.
The result: every lead captured on the website is automatically transferred to the appropriate SAP systems - error-free, efficient and seamlessly integrated into marketing and sales processes. This means that leads are not only captured and processed efficiently, but also accompanied along the entire customer journey: from the first touchpoint to the opportunity in sales.
