Visitors to the Hannover Messe experience an exceptionally broad spectrum: from traditional industry to automation to new, sometimes highly futuristic technologies.
You get a good sense of what’s already possible today—and which developments may become relevant in the coming years.
I’ve been working in this field for over 15 years, and yet every year I’m still surprised by the companies represented there and just how international the trade show is.
Hannover Messe brings together companies, experts, and decision-makers from numerous countries, offering a unique overview of markets, solutions, and trends.
In addition to traditional sales pitches, you’ll repeatedly encounter people at the Hannover Messe who have a truly deep understanding of their industry.
This professional exchange among peers—often spontaneous and unplanned—is one of the fair’s greatest added values and makes it far more than just a product exhibition.
As in any market, the same rule applies here: Not every trend will catch on.
At the Hannover Messe, you can get a firsthand look at which technologies have real substance, what may just be short-lived hype, and which niches—though small—can still be strategically exciting.
The economic and social challenges are immense—that’s no secret.
And of course, not everything is sunshine and roses at the Hannover Messe either. But every year, the multitude of innovative ideas, dedicated companies, and creative solutions ensures that I leave the fair feeling more optimistic than when I arrived.

For over 30 years, we’ve been digitizing German small and medium-sized businesses— consistently using open source, with a focus on data sensitivity, and ensuring true data sovereignty. This year, we’re not just attending the Hannover Messe as visitors; for the first time, we’re also actively represented on-site.
We’ll be at the trade fair as part of the Baden-Württemberg joint booth (THE LÄND) —the state’s official location initiative. We look forward to connecting with many German SMEs and working together to build Germany as an independent, digital business hub.
