From breakfast conversations to late into the night, I devoted myself one hundred percent for six days to what I consider to be the most modern content management system: Neos.
It has become a tradition for the week-long Neos Code Sprint to take place at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences in the lead-up to the Inspiring Conference. And this year, once again, core team members and interested parties from all over Germany and beyond gathered there. In addition to continuing work on the rewrite of the Neos Backendusing React and numerous discussions on various aspects of the project, one topic in particular dominated this sprint: finalizing the new Neos brand and the redesigned project website, neos.io.
With its appealing design, the new website not only makes users more eager to try out the CMS but also offers more information and useful features. All core features are explained in detail, and many are illustrated with small animations. Another new feature is the Package Browser, which makes it possible to search for existing extensions and site packages listed on packagist.org and presents them attractively in the detail view. In the Community section, visitors can get to know the core teams, and the sponsors are also prominently listed on their page.
The new logo and website were set to be unveiled to the public for the first time at the Inspiring Conference. With the deadline fast approaching, work on the project was proceeding at a feverish pace.
Because we at punkt.de are convinced that Neos is a great system for our projects, we have not only decided to be a Premium Sponsor of the Inspiring Conference, but also want to support the promotion of the system—which is why we are additionally a Brand Sponsor of the new Neos brand.
The Inspiring Conference began on Friday, immediately following the Codesprint. Over the course of two days, presentations covered the CMS’s new features, best practices, and case studies of completed projects. We at punkt.de attended with five participants and enjoyed the engaging presentations and fruitful discussions with the other attendees.
At the end of the first day of the conference, the moment had finally arrived: In their talk, Robert Lemke and Florian Heinze recounted the story behind the new logo and introduced the new Neos brand and the project’s new website. Almost a year after the split from the TYPO3 Association, Neos now has a new brand identity:
It wasn’t just the new Neos Brand that was unveiled to the public for the first time at the conference. Jörg and Fabian presented theproServer—our new hosting solution designed specifically for Neos—at our punkt.de hosting booth and were on hand to answer questions and engage in discussions. With proServer, we aim to bridge the gap between traditional shared hosting—on which Neos can only run with limitations—and high-maintenance root server solutions. The package comes equipped with the latest version of PHP and, thanks to modern services like Redis, Elasticsearch, and Varnish, includes everything ambitious Neos projects require right out of the box.
With its new brand and the momentum from an inspiring conference, Neos is kicking off an exciting new year. We at punkt.de are really looking forward to implementing projects together with our clients using this great CMS.
