Learn moreThe focus of this project was the development of an intuitive support application for the planning of real estate optimization projects.
Of course, everything in the context of security, scalability and expandability of the application.
In this case study you can learn more about this project.

S-Kreditpartner GmbH (SKP) is the specialized partner for the installment loan business in the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. S-Kreditpartner was founded in 2011 and is a subsidiary of Deutsche Leasing, Berliner Sparkasse/BSK 1818 and SKP Verbundgesellschaft.
As a specialist in the consumer credit business, SKP now covers over 90% of the savings banks. With more than 750 employees and a loan portfolio of over EUR 11 billion (as of June 2024), SKP is clearly on course for success.
SKP sees itself as a driver of innovation, enabler and pioneer of digital transformation with well thought-out processes.

SKP became aware of us through a recommendation from our long-standing partner, "essential - business excellence GmbH". SKP was looking for an agency with which it could develop an application for planning real estate modernization projects. The aim was to use new technologies while ensuring efficient implementation.
The first phase of the project was launched in March 2024 with a prototype. The prototype served as a starting point to support the savings banks' advisory process, facilitate the planning of property optimization projects and enable tailor-made financing.
Thanks to our agile development culture and SKP as a committed customer who fully embraced this approach, we were able to develop the prototype into a fully functional application in two further iterations (October 2024 and April 2025). The "My Optimization Planner - Savings Banks" (MOP-S).

Since October 2024, a knowledge portal on the topic of heat pumps has also been integrated into the "MOP-S" and further offers are to follow.
In phases 2 and 3, feedback from cooperating savings banks and their advisors was incorporated and the integration of various data sources was driven forward.
Two prominent data sources that were integrated in order to optimize the advisory process are

The aspects of security, scalability and expandability of the application had to be taken into account during the entire development process. As a bank, SKP is heavily regulated by supervisory authorities or legal requirements, such as DORA, when developing applications.
As part of the collaboration, we were able to familiarize ourselves with SKP's processes, better understand the regulatory requirements and implement them to ensure the security of the application.
To ensure scalability, the application was developed to be cloud-capable. SKP opted for the Google Cloud at this point.
The expandability of the application was a core element of the project, as additional functions were to be implemented step by step in order to optimally adapt the project to the needs of customers and savings banks. This is easy to implement thanks to our preferred continuous relaunch and our agile way of working.
It was very convenient for us that SKP focused on development with new technologies right from the start. For us, this meant that we were able to opt for modern JavaScript and CSS frameworks.
For a connected admin tool, we opted for a modern PHP framework. This tool provides analysis data and customizes parts of the application using various parameters that can be configured in real time.
We use Keycloak as an identity provider, which manages both authentication and authorizations and thus manages access to the MOP-S, the heat pump knowledge portal and the admin tool. Everything in one Backend and therefore easy to manage for the administrators.
Integrating the requirements of a bank into our existing development processes was certainly a challenge at first - especially when it came to the documentation requirements for work and concepts. SKP's willingness to break new ground and rely on new technologies inspires us, especially in an environment characterized by a lot of tradition. Coupled with agile development and genuine participation in the processes, the joint project is also a lot of fun for our developers.
This project has once again shown how essential the advice and dedicated commitment of a product owner from the service provider is. A separate budget was provided for this in order to optimally overcome both the technical and organizational challenges.
This enabled us to integrate an experienced product owner who acted as a central interface and clearly communicated the vision of the product. Especially in pure application development, this targeted investment allows us to gain considerable speed and quality. The product owner not only prioritized tasks and clarified requirements, but also ensured that the team was always focused on the most important goals.

The collaboration with SKP was very close right from the start and we were able to work together successfully in an agile way. Thanks to SKP's good preparation and the analysis of customer and savings bank requirements, we were able to develop in a very targeted manner. Even the prototype of the MOP-S convinced SKP.
The savings banks and customers were also able to record many successes in the subsequent phases 2 and 3 through the use of the MOP-S in lending.
We are very much looking forward to the further development of the MOP-S and the other project components in collaboration with SKP.
